A 15-year-old girl waiting for a bus in Maili early Tuesday had a gun pointed at her and her cash taken, rattling neighbors and morning commuters. Police say the teen was not injured, but the suspects fled with the money before officers arrived.
What happened
Honolulu police say the robbery happened around 7:05 a.m. at a bus stop on Farrington Highway at St. Johns Road, when a white Kia sedan pulled up and several people got out and approached the girl. One of the males allegedly pulled a handgun and took cash from her backpack before the group sped off in the car, according to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
