Akron OKs conditional use for Pfeiffer, Miller South School

DOWNTOWN AKRON — The Kenmore community is one step closer to getting a new elementary and middle school.

During the Nov. 17 Akron City Council meeting, Council approved a conditional-use permit for the new Pfeiffer and Miller South building. The school will be constructed on the former site of the Kenmore High School building, which was demolished this past summer. The school will combine students from Pfeiffer Elementary School and Miller South School for the Visual and Performing Arts into one new building.

According to the plans, the new two-story school will include classrooms, a gymnasium, dining area and a 750-seat theater. The building is being designed for 750 students and 90 employees…
