Birmingham man sentenced to over 22 years in prison on drug trafficking charges

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A Birmingham man was sentenced to over 22 years in prison for drug trafficking, U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona announced Thursday.

Bryant Robertson, 39, was sentenced to 275 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine; possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence or drug trafficking crime; and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

On Aug. 14, 2024, Escalona said, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Robertson, but he fled. He later crashed at the Citgo at 3100 Ensley Five Points West Ave. Deputies seized drugs, two stolen guns, five cellphones, three digital scales and other items from Robertson’s vehicle…
