GAINESVILLE, Ga. — A Gainesville man says he got an unexpected gift on his wife’s birthday this year: a $10,000 lottery win.
Preston Fuqua, who has lived in Gainesville since 1999 with his wife and three children, won the prize playing the Georgia Millionaire scratch-off ticket from the Georgia Lottery. He bought the ticket Nov. 14 — his wife’s birthday — at the Chevron on Price Road, a convenience store he visits daily.
Fuqua had taken the day off to do chores around the house and take his wife out to dinner. When he called to tell her about the win, she didn’t believe him…
