National News: Four Men Charged in Attempt to Cash $27 Million U.S. Treasury Check

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Authorities have apprehended four individuals accused of attempting to cash a staggering U.S. Treasury check exceeding $27 million. The arrests occurred on November 10 at a South Florida restaurant, where the suspects unwittingly included an undercover officer in their illicit scheme.

The federal criminal complaint identifies the suspects as Carlos Manuel Villanueva, 37, from Hialeah, Florida; Eric Renard Bedford, 44, hailing from Houston; Jorge Cruz Garcia, 30, from Katy, Texas; and John Ryan Boxie, 43, also of Houston.
