‘Violent crime’ suspects arrested after South Los Angeles pursuit

Deputies arrested two suspects after a pursuit ended in a crash in South Los Angeles on Thursday morning.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department later told KTLA that the two suspects were wanted for what officials only described as a “violent crime,” which occurred on an earlier date. This pursuit was a result of a follow-up investigation, investigators said. Preliminary information suggested the suspect vehicle was believed to be connected to a robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and kidnapping, but authorities did not confirm this information.

It’s unclear where the chase was initiated, but around 11 a.m., the pursuit traveled from Willowbrook to El Segundo and Compton before the driver crashed. LASD said there were two crashes involved in the pursuit in total.

Sky5 was overhead shortly after the pursuit suspect crashed on the side of the road, and the driver and at least one other suspect were seen running out of the pickup truck…
