Blue Angels ‘Fat Albert’ plane leaves Pensacola for maintenance work in UK

PENSACOLA, Fla. — The U.S. Navy Blue Angels’ Fat Albert has left Pensacola for “heavy maintenance” work in the UK.

According to the Blue Angels, the plane is going to Marshall Aerospace in Cambridge, UK, for an essential upgrade that’s to extend its lifespan.

Maintenance will include “a full center wing box replacement – a major structural component that takes on significant stress during flight.”…
