KINGSTON, N.Y. – A jury on Thursday acquitted former New York state trooper Christopher Baldner of murder and reckless endangerment charges, and the judge then ordered jurors to continue deliberating a pending manslaughter charge in the case.
Baldner was accused of ramming his police cruiser into an SUV in December 2020, during a high-speed chase on the State Thruway, killing 11-year-old Monica Goods, of Brooklyn, who was a passenger.
An Ulster County jury started deliberations in the case this week, and on Thursday sent questions to the judge about prior testimony and state trooper policy. Jurors also asked for the definition of manslaughter and reasonable doubt…
