Alice Rebecca Langford, the oldest living person in Virginia, USA, celebrated her 111th birthday in Richmond on 19 November.
Langford was born in Greenville, South Carolina, on 19 November 1914. She attended schools in Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina, as her family frequently relocated due to work commitments. She graduated from high school in 1933 and was married to Heard E. Langford on 9 December 1933 in Greenwood, South Carolina. The couple went on to have at least three children: Jerry, Anne and Martha.
