Sacramento airport dining update takes off with its first new restaurant opening

The Sacramento International Airport opened the first major restaurant in its dining concessions revitalization Wednesday with the debut of West Coast Sourdough in Terminal A.

At a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Sacramento County and airport officials, West Coast Sourdough began serving travelers as the airport’s dining upgrade moved forward. The opening is the first of several restaurants and cafes planned as part of a broader revamp of airport concessions.

“Today we take the first tangible step in transforming the dining experience at SMF,” said Sacramento County director of airports Cindy Nichol in a news release. “By partnering with locally owned businesses like West Coast Sourdough and aligning our concessions program with our community’s unique identity, we’re building an airport that serves both the traveler and the region.”…
