Fire on Ocala Road: Local Residents Rescued and Displaced After Apartment Blaze

On November 19, 2024, the Tallahassee Fire Department responded to a fire at a three-story apartment building on Ocala Road. Firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the roof. There were reports of residents trapped inside. A second alarm was called. Crews rescued two people from the second floor. Six people were taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation. One firefighter had minor injuries.

Firefighters worked for several hours to control the fire. They used aerial trucks and coordinated with the Tallahassee Police Department, Florida State University Police, and Leon County EMS.
