3rd storm in a week to bring rain, snow, tornado risk to Southern California

Southern California’s third storm in just a week is expected to bring rain, mountain snow and even a small risk of a tornado beginning on Thursday.

Rain totals for the storm are forecast to be moderate, with the system delivering about 0.25 to 0.75 inches to coastal and valley areas. Most of the rain moves out on Friday, but the storm could stall, allowing showers to linger into Saturday morning.

“Today is a no-brainer for me — we’re going to get hit by rain sometime after the noon hour into the evening,” KTLA meteorologist Henry DiCarlo said Thursday morning. “And then Friday and Saturday, that low just kind of sits there, and as it does, it wraps some moisture.”…
