SPRINGFIELD, Mo — A couple from Marshfield is sharing the incredible story of their daughter being born in the parking lot of Buc-ee’s in east Springfield.
Nathan and Jena Birdsong, who now have three children live in a rural area north of Marshfield. Late last Thursday night, Jena started feeling contractions. With this being their third child, Jena wanted to give it some time before waking up dad.
“Thursday night I woke up around 11:30 with contractions. I let Nathan sleep a couple of hours and didn’t wake him up until around 1:45 a.m. when they were a little closer together because I wanted to make sure was in labor,” Jena says.
At that point, the couple called Nathan’s parents to come watch the other two children. They live about 45 minutes away. When the grandparents arrived, things started to progress quickly…
