Serial carjacking suspect to stay in jail until trial

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A man accused of going on a car-jacking spree, all while allegedly wearing an ankle bracelet on probation for DWI, will stay behind bars until his trial.

Daniel Ochoa faces a long list of charges in addition to the most recent carjacking charges, including aggravated fleeing an officer, criminal trespass, and failure to maintain lane traffic.

“At this time, after discussing with my client, we are going to stipulate to the pretrial detention at this moment,” said Ochoa’s attorney at the Bernalillo County District Court in downtown Albuquerque on Thursday. A few minutes later, he was briskly walked out of the courtroom in handcuffs…
