Sophia Negroponte, daughter of ex-intelligence director, found guilty in stabbing retrial

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — After a high-profile retrial, Sophia Negroponte, 32, of Washington, D.C., was found guilty of second-degree murder in the death of 24-year-old Yousuf Rasmussen.

The verdict was delivered on Thursday in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Md., before Judge Terrence McGann. Negroponte now faces up to 35 years in prison, with sentencing set for Feb. 19, 2026.
