CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — It’s that time of year again for the annual StormTrack 9 Winter Outlook! It is my favorite forecast to present each and every year. I am truly honored to continue the tradition that started decades ago.
A nearly 50 year tradition at NewsChannel 9 that began in the 1970s with Don Welch and his “Grandpappy” weather folklore forecasts for the winter season. In the late 1970s, Neal Pascal continued the annual winter outlooks with a more indepth meteorological look at the season ahead. Since 2006, I have been providing the Winter Outlook balancing both the folklore and meteorological analysis for the colder months ahead.
