In a shocking turn of events, the Public Building Authority (PBA) of Knox County fell victim to an online spoofing scam, resulting in a loss of nearly $760,000. The fraudsters impersonated a vendor and tricked two PBA employees into changing a bank routing number, thereby successfully stealing the substantial amount. The PBA, in response, has assured that it is tightening its training and security protocols to prevent such incidents in the future.
