KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Knoxville bagel shop earned national recognition and multiple awards at The New York Bagelfest less than a year after opening its doors.
Potchke Bagel was voted the “Best Beyond the Boroughs” at the New York City event billed as the world’s biggest bagel celebration. In addition to finishing first in the “Most Creative” and “Best Bialy” categories, Potchke earned a third-place finish for “Best Bagel” overall.

While Potchke Deli has been open since 2022 inside the Regas Building on Gay Street, the business recently expanded to a standalone bagel shop at 432 N Cedar Bluff Road in January.
Their BagelFest success comes weeks after Potchke Deli was included in the Michelin Guide’s inaugural American South selection, earning “recommended” status along with two other East Tennessee eateries.
