Man busted in Nicholasville drug probe now faces federal gun charge

LEXINGTON, Ky. — A Fayette County man already facing a slate of state drug-trafficking and fleeing charges was indicted Thursday in federal court on a single count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

A federal grand jury charged Quavon Megal Winslow, 29, with knowingly possessing a Glock 19x 9mm pistol on June 28, 2021, despite having prior felony convictions that barred him from having a gun. According to the three-page indictment filed in U.S. District Court in Lexington, prosecutors say the handgun — a model 19x pistol — had traveled in interstate commerce, making the possession a federal crime.

If convicted, Winslow faces up to 15 years in federal prison, a fine of up to $250,000 and three years of supervised release. The indictment also seeks forfeiture of the Glock and any associated ammunition…
