Ferry Pass to lose critical fire truck due to staffing; Hofberger says issue is funding

FERRY PASS, Fla. — An undermanned fire station in Ferry Pass is now losing its 100 ft. aerial ladder because it doesn’t have the crew to operate it.

This impacts an area with dozens of multi-story buildings, which would need such a ladder if there were an emergency. District 4 Escambia County commissioner Ashlee Hofberger says a lack of funding has created this problem.

The ladder truck is still in Ferry Pass but it won’t be for much longer. The aerial ladder fire truck will be moved out of Fire Station #7 because it doesn’t have the staff to run it…
