Port Authority approves $43M plan to renovate nearly 200 affordable housing units in Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio — As concerns about housing affordability continue to grow in Toledo, the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority is moving forward with a multi-million-dollar effort to preserve and restore affordable homes across the city.

On Thursday, Port Authority leadership approved a resolution unlocking $43 million in funding for the renovation of 191 units across 40 buildings, with most located in Toledo’s Vistula neighborhood. The project is being carried out in partnership with Toledo Heritage Village, a nonprofit that has restored affordable housing in Vistula and south Toledo for more than a decade.
