HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A Florida high schooler was arrested after authorities say he brought a loaded firearm and a knife in his possession on campus.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) said on November 18, a Strawberry Crest High School student was arrested. At around 11:23 a.m., school staff observed the student leaving a restroom with a vape pen. Following school safety protocols, administrators initiated a search.
Due to the student’s uncooperative behavior, an HCSO School Resource Deputy was called to assist, according to the news release. During the encounter, the student allegedly resisted and attempted to grab the deputy’s agency-issued firearm before being restrained and placed in handcuffs…
