Man facing assault, kidnapping charges in Potter County pleads guilty to illegal re-entry charge

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — A man facing charges of aggravated assault and kidnapping in Potter County has entered into a plea agreement in federal court on charges of illegal re-entry.

Carlos Vidana-Najera entered into a plea agreement on a charge of “Illegal Re-Entry After Deportation,” according to court documents filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Amarillo Division.

In a separate case, Vidana-Najera was accused of allegedly kidnapping a woman after shooting at her and a security guard in June.

The charges followed a June 29 incident in which Vidana-Najera allegedly fired an AR-style rifle at a woman, and allegedly shot at and injured a security guard who had been trying to intervene. He allegedly drove away after forcing the woman into a pickup truck at gunpoint…
