Two South Dakota Counties Lead in Traffic Fatalities For 2025

As South Dakotans prepare for holiday travel, sobering statistics from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office highlight an urgent need for increased road safety awareness.

As of November 10th, 2025, the state has recorded 86 fatal crashes resulting in 97 deaths.

Minnehaha and Pennington Counties are tied for the most traffic fatalities this year with 14 deaths each. Lincoln County follows closely behind with nine fatalities.
