PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A crash involving a pickup truck and a garbage truck in North Portland left one driver critically injured early Friday morning, officials said.
Just after 7:30 a.m., Portland Fire & Rescue crews responded to reports of the crash with a pickup driver pinned by the steering wheel in the 6800 block of North Lombard Street.

After arriving at the scene, officials said firefighters used power tools to open up the passenger side of the pickup and gain access to the injured driver.
Once extricated, the driver was taken to a hospital.
