1 person dies after crash on I-440 westbound between Wake Forest Road and Six Forks Road, police say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The Raleigh Police Department said one person is dead after being hit by a car on the interstate Friday night.

According to police, the crash happened just after before 9 p.m. between the Wake Forest Road and Six Forks Road exits on Interstate 440.

One person is dead as a result of the crash, police said, and all westbound lanes of I-440 between Wake Forest Road and Six Forks Road are closed, with no time given as to when the road will be reopened. No information on the person’s identity has been released.
