Richland One employee faces multiple charges, including soliciting a minor online

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — A Richland One School District employee has been arrested on several charges related to the solicitation and exploitation of a minor.

Warrants provided by the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office allege that Christopher Thomas Rader has been charged with two counts of criminal solicitation of a minor, three counts of unlawful dissemination of obscene materials to a person under 18, two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in the third degree and one count of sexual exploitation of a minor in the third degree.

The warrants allege the conduct began in mid-October with Rader communicating online with a person he believed to be 14 years old and discussing sexual acts. Warrants allege that he also attempted to send obscene pictures to a 14-year-old girl…
