Gwinnett’s tag offices moving to new hours of operation in 2026

Gwinnett County’s tag offices will close 30 minutes to an hour earlier, starting in 2026, according to the county’s Tax Commissioner’s Office.

Tax Commissioner Denise Mitchell announced new hours for the tag offices, with the new schedule going into effect on Jan. 1, 2026. The tag offices will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, under the new schedule. Currently, tag offices are open from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Mitchell said the ability for residents to use 16 self-service kiosks, including three that are available 24 hours a day, to renew their vehicle tags is a factor in the decision to change the hours of operation at the tag offices…
