Riverside County Residents Invited to Adopt Pets for Free Through November 30

The Riverside County Department of Animal Services (RCDAS) has extended its ‘Home for the Holidays’ fee-waived adoption event through November 30, 2025. The event aims to reduce overcrowding at local shelters, which currently house about 1,000 dogs. Adoption fees are waived at all shelter locations. Each adopted pet will receive spay or neuter surgery, a microchip, vaccinations, and an engraved ID tag.

RCDAS recently worked with Wings of Rescue to transport 36 dogs from Riverside County and others from the region to New York and Maine. The flight, which left after midnight on a Saturday, carried a total of 109 dogs to shelters in those states for adoption…
