LODI, Calif. — A Lodi family known for their community work is now leaning on that same community after a fire displaced them just before the holidays.
Pastor Timothy Stewart said he woke up around 3 a.m. Friday, when he heard his daughter yell “fire.” Smoke was pouring out of the garage, and in the darkness, he and his family had only minutes to escape.
“It was moving pretty quick and so I got everyone up,” Stewart said. “We got our dogs out, and we went out our back sliding glass door and then went around our house, and then it went pretty fast. During that commotion, we called 9-1-1. Unfortunately, we did lose three of our cats. My two older daughters lost their pets.”…
