Syracuse held its 25th National Adoption Day Ceremony on Friday. Forty children in Central New York were adopted, and 5,000 kids got their papers signed nationwide.
The event, held at The Oncenter, featured balloons, guest speakers and popular local mascots like Otto the Orange and Tully the Turtle. The event was open to the public and offered resources for families looking to foster or adopt children of their own.
