AKRON, Ohio — There are new traffic changes set to impact drivers in Akron as multiple ramps connected to the Route 8 bridge replacement project will be closed through late fall 2027.
The Ohio Department of Transportation announced Friday that the following ramps will be closed starting Monday, Dec. 1:
- Route 8 North to Glenwood Avenue: The detour for this closure is Tallmadge Avenue to Home Avenue.
- Perkins Street to Route 8 North: The detour will be Perkins Street to Goodkirk Street to Buchtel Avenue to Fountain Street to Route 8 South.
- Route 8 South to Buchtel Avenue: The detour will be Route 8 South to Perkins Street to Goodkirk Street.
