City leaders react to adoption of south Greensboro revitalization plan

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Following the adoption of the South Greensboro Revitalization Plan, city leaders say that residents won’t have to wait months or even weeks before they begin to see the impacts. They say the work has already begun to bring homes, business, and entertainment to the area.

One of the reasons why is that the newly adopted plan works in collaboration with the Randleman Road Plan, adopted by the city council last year. According to Russ Clegg, a manager with the city’s strategic planning division, the city has already begun projects in the area like fixing streetlights and conducting business recruitment to lure industry to the area.

Clegg went on to explain how this is not just a win for District 1, but a win for the entire City of Greensboro. In anticipation for the continues population rise in the area, and the city’s ‘Road to 10,000’ Initiative, the South Greensboro Revitalization Plan fits right in with where the city is moving in the future, while also serving its current residents…
