Video captures armed robbery at downtown Austin grocery store

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened last week at the Royal Blue Grocery at 4th and Nueces Streets downtown. It happened on Nov. 11 just before midnight.

“This guy pulled the gun out on the street before he walked in. By the time he opens the door, the gun’s out,” store owner Craig Staley said.

The video shows a man pointing a gun at the cashier, and the cashier handing over the cash in the register. Staley said he trains his employees to comply for their safety…
