Man pleads guilty to killing Ella Goodie during carjacking; will receive life sentence

LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — The man accused of killing a Lafayette Parish woman during a carjacking has pleaded guilty to the charge in federal court, according to U.S. Attorney Zachary Keller.

Court records show Brandon Francisco, 39, of Mansura in Avoyelles Parish, pleaded guilty on November 13 to a carjacking that resulted in death.

U.S. Attorney Keller said Francisco admitted to carjacking Ella Goodie, 33, of Scott, in 2022 and killing her. Goodie, a mother of two, was an Uber and Lyft driver.

Officials said Francisco also admitted to shooting Goodie multiple times and disposing of her body before driving off in her vehicle…
