Las Vegas police crack down on speeders, reckless drivers with newly formed unit

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Over the past several weeks, a newly formed unit within the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has taken on speeders and reckless drivers.

It is called the L.I.F.E. Squad Unit. It’s composed of two officers from each area command, focused on the most dangerous roads in the valley.

The name L.I.F.E. stands for Lives Improved; Fatalities Eliminated. LVMPD Sheriff Kevin McMahill said the mission is to cut down on bad driving behavior and reduce deadly crashes…
