Albany nonprofit to host sober Thanksgiving potluck dinner

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — An Albany nonprofit is hoping to help those struggling with addiction this Thanksgiving with a potluck dinner. Hive of Hope Sober Community Center will host its sober Thanksgiving Potluck from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on November 27.

Held at the nonprofit’s recreational center on Central Avenue, the community is invited to bring their favorite Thanksgiving dish to share and connect with others who may be struggling with addiction. The dinner is influenced by Hive of Hope’s mission of creating a haven for people who are recovering from substance abuse.

Hive of Hope not only organizes community meals but also offers Narcotics Anonymous meetings on Fridays from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., movie nights, and different workshops. Hive of Hope Sober Community Center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, and is closed on Thursdays and Sundays.
