DC man convicted of killing a 13-year-old in the middle of a gang dispute

WASHINGTON — A D.C. man has been convicted of murdering a 13-year-old in the midst of a gang dispute that escalated into gunfire in 2020.

A jury found Reginald Steele, 26, guilty of first-degree murder while armed, several counts of assault with intent to kill while armed, and other homicide related charges.

The conviction stemmed from the death of 13-year-old Malachi Lukes, who was killed in a spray of bullets as he and several friends tried to run away from Steele and four other co-defendants on March 1, 2020…
