Local high school students to hear from the Pope at National Catholic Youth Conference

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Area high school students are traveling to Indy this weekend for an opportunity to grow in their faith, meet new people, and hear from Pope Leo XIV via video chat.

The National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) 2025 is taking place in Indianapolis. Over 15,000 students and chaperones will take part in daily Masses, exhibits, breakout sessions, and even a video chat with Pope Leo XIV. The four-day event takes place from Thursday through Sunday at both the Indianapolis Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium.

Carmella Marrero is a junior at Terre Haute North High School who went to this event last time it happened in 2023. She said she couldn’t miss the chance to experience this event again after it encouraged her to continue in her faith…
