CHARLESTON , S.C. (WCIV) — Protestors are out in downtown Charleston Saturday afternoon taking part in the national “Remove the Regime” day of action, once more flanked with questions over the City’s controversial First Amendment Ordinance.
Organizers say the protests are taking place as a unified call for constitutional rights and government accountability, and that they’ve had difficulties with local authorities regarding permitting for the demonstration.
“More than 38,000 South Carolinians came out for No Kings in October,” said organizer Bonnie Cleaveland. “Members of the public asked why we didn’t have a Charleston protest, and the lack of a protest in Charleston was embarrassing.”…
