On November 24, 2025, the Durham County Board of Commissioners will present the annual State of the County Address. The meeting will take place during the Regular Session in the Commissioners’ Chambers at 200 East Main Street. The event will begin with a performance by the Southwest Elementary School chorus. This will be Chair Nida Allam’s first time delivering the address. Each Commissioner will take part in the presentation.
The address will review the challenges and achievements of Durham County Government over the past year. The Board will discuss departmental work and efforts to meet community needs. Residents can attend in person or watch online through the Durham Television Network, YouTube, or Zoom.
A community food drive will be held during the event. Earlier this year, county employees distributed over 700 bags of food during a federal government shutdown. Attendees are asked to bring canned goods and non-perishable items to support local food banks…
