LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A new vending machine on the corner of Jefferson and West Sixth Street in Lexington is redefining what food access can look like.
FoodChain, a local nonprofit dedicated to increasing access to fresh, locally sourced food, has launched a 24/7 fresh meal vending machine designed to serve anyone in need — at any time of day.
Located under the blue awning at 501 West Sixth Street, the machine holds more than 80 meals at once. About half of the meals are free, while the others cost $7.50. All proceeds from the purchased meals go directly back into restocking and sustaining the machine.
