Person treated for smoke inhalation after fire near Surfside Beach, Horry County Fire Rescue says

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — One person was taken to the the hospital and treated for smoke inhalation after a fire Friday morning near Surfside Beach, according to Horry County Fire Rescue.

Firefighters rescued the person after responding at about 9 a.m. to the fire in a multiresidential building on Huntingdon Drive, HCFR said. Two other people got out of the building safely on their own and signed medical transport waivers after they were treated by medics.

The fire was contained to the kitchen area, HCFR said. Smoke was reported throughout the residence.
