2 arrested on contraband charges at Ventress Correctional Facility

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Two men were arrested Tuesday after attempting to transport contraband inside a correctional facility, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.

Larenzo Frazier and Gregory Nevels were both charged with possession of a controlled substance, first-degree possession of marijuana, and first-degree promoting prison contraband.

The investigation started after staff at Ventress Correctional Facility reported a trespasser and possible contraband activity.

Agents responded and conducted an investigative stop on a car at the Barbour/Bullock County line. The passenger, Frazier, and the driver, Nevels, were taken into custody and transported to the Law Enforcement Services Division office at Ventress…
