Philadelphia has witnessed yet another conclusion to a chilling crime saga. Chihean Jones, also known as “Cha,” 40, of Philadelphia, was found guilty by a federal jury on charges that included robbery, murder, and firearms offenses. The conviction follows a string of violent offenses, culminating in the tragic murder of a gas station attendant, according to a release by the United States Attorney’s Office.
In the first incident dated August 22, 2022, as per the information obtained by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Jones drove accomplices to a cell phone store on East Olney Avenue. He remained in his Chevrolet Suburban while these individuals forcibly entered store and made away with multiple cell phones. The accused and his companions escaped the scene in the same vehicle.
Additional charges stemmed from a January 17, 2023, robbery that ended in bloodshed. Jones, along with his girlfriend and two other men, attempted to rob a gas station on Torresdale Avenue. Their initial plan went awry when the gas station attendant did not exit the store as anticipated. What unfolded next was a brutal scene where after the attendant was shot in the back by Jones, the group looted the station and left the attendant for dead…
