Brownstein’s Bagels not reopening after ‘catastrophic fire’ severely damaged business

BRIGHTON, N.Y. — Brownstein’s Bagels announced on its Facebook page Friday that it will not be reopening after a “catastrophic” two-alarm fire severely damaged its Twelve Corners location in Brighton.

The fire happened on Sept. 9, and took dozens of firefighters from multiple departments to battle.

In the Facebook post, the business said the damage from the fire has been proven to be “far too extensive,” and amongst other concerns, it would be “impossible to restart the business in a timely and economically sensible manner.”

Brownstein’s has served the community for nearly 40 years, and was often ranked the top deli in the Rochester area on Yelp…
