Roanoke, Virginia – In preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday, Roanoke County has announced early closures and service adjustments that will impact residents throughout the week of November 24, 2025. The majority of Roanoke County government offices will close at noon on Wednesday, November 26, and remain closed through Friday, November 28.
Trash Collection Adjusted for the Holiday
Trash collection will follow a revised schedule to accommodate the Thanksgiving break. Residents should pay close attention to these changes:
- Monday and Tuesday routes will be serviced on Monday, November 24
- Wednesday routes will be collected on Tuesday, November 25
- Thursday routes will be picked up on Wednesday, November 26
Officials ask that containers be placed at the curb on the appropriate day and left out until emptied. While the Solid Waste Administrative staff will remain available by phone and email until 5 p.m. the day before Thanksgiving, collections will not take place beyond Wednesday…
