Petaluma Expands Year-Round Agricultural Programs at Fairgrounds for Local Community

On November 10, 2025, the City of Petaluma announced expanded, year-round agricultural programming at the Petaluma Fairgrounds. The initiative responds to community feedback and aims to support Petaluma’s agricultural heritage. The city plans to offer new educational and community activities at the Fairgrounds throughout the year.

The City has hired Paulette Swallow as Agricultural Program Manager. Swallow is a sixth-generation Petaluma resident with experience in the local farming community. She will join the City’s Special Events Team and oversee agricultural programming at the Fairgrounds. Her responsibilities include scheduling, livestock shows, volunteer coordination, and educational events. This change shifts management from the state to the city, with a goal of improving financial sustainability and increasing year-round use of the Fairgrounds.
