It’s one of the oldest buildings in Santa Barbara, but back in November 1925 it was someone’s new home. “Mr. and Mrs. Southworth have moved into their Old Original Adobe house at 715 Santa Barbara Street, where they are now making their home. This place was used as a teashop before the earthquake. Since the earthquake, Mr. Southworth has buttressed and strengthened it.
“The building once stood in the rear of the present Recreation Center and Mr. Southworth purchased it, moved it and reconstructed it on its present location.”…
