CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Dozens of families filled the Linn County Juvenile Courthouse Friday to celebrate National Adoption Day, marking the official adoption of 14 children into their forever homes. The event is part of a nationwide initiative, with more than 400 celebrations taking place across the United States this month.
Among the children were sisters Isabella, 13, and Delilah, 11, who have been waiting two years for their adoption to be finalized. The girls described the moment as exciting and meaningful.
